Sweetening a Sour Relationship
September 7, 2008 [Jacob] crossed over before them and bowed himself to the ground seven times, until he came near to his brother. But Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him ... and kissed him, and they wept.-Genesis 33:3-4
For twenty years, these brothers had been estranged. But Esau’s hatred changed suddenly. Though he intended to meet Jacob with a sword, he ended up embracing him. Close relationships can sometimes sour. Perhaps you have been estranged from a loved one.
Wisdom for Today
The world in which we live places great value on knowledge. But people don’t always strive to know the most important things. The truth is you may be extremely knowledgeable about insects, or stars, or the sciences. You may be very wise about those sorts of things and people might really admire you for that knowledge. That’s all well and good, but if you don’t have the wisdom of God, you’re missing the most important knowledge a man can ever hope to attain.
