CCBCE - Our Family
by Erin Mauldin
After two semesters here in Vajta, I've come to realize that one of the greatest things about this school is something I least expected. Before flying halfway across the world to end up in this remote place, I had what you could call "normal" expectations. I knew that I'd be studying God's word, going to church, going on outreaches, worshipping and praying etc. What I didn't expect, was the family that also came with the package.

I think many would agree with me that one of the nicest things about being here is the bonding and fellowship that occurs. It's not just limited to the students. There is a tie that binds staff, student and families alike. I'm amazed by the love that's in this place. A love that is truly gracious and unconditional. Love that is ready and willing to give Godly counsel and advice in times of need. Love that is able to encourage and build up one another. And love that cares enough to rebuke and correct when needed.

I love my family back home dearly, but I have to say there is something so special about the family God has blessed me with here in Vajta. I'm reminded of a verse that the Lord spoke to me last spring. Luke 18:29-30 says, "Assuredly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or parents or brothers or wife or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, who shall not receive many times more in this present time…" I'm convinced that I have indeed received "many times more" with my family here.

CCBCE Israel Tour

Drum roll please . . . we are proud to announce our 3rd Annual Tour of Israel on April 4th - 15th, 2008. On our tour we will hike through the wilderness of En Gedi, sail on the Sea of Galilee, discovering the history and culture of Jerusalem, even float on the Dead Sea.

We will be traveling along with Pastor Chuck Smith, Pastor Skip Heitzig, and Joel Rosenberg who will share Biblical devotions bringing historical sites to life, like Caesarea-Phillipi, Mount of Beatitudes, Gideon Springs, Mount of Olives, the Western Wall and Garden of Gethsemane. You can get baptized in the Jordan River and have communion at the Garden Tomb. Inside you can see the inscription reminding us, “He is risen indeed!” We will walk where Jesus walked, experience the sights, and sound of the Promised Land.

We will also be attending a Prophecy Conference in Jerusalem to further ground our faith and understanding of Biblical truths and end-time prophecy currently being unveiled. Pastor Chuck Smith and Pastor Skip Heitzig will be sharing along with Joel Rosenberg. Joel was the aide to former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Deputy Prime Minister Natan Sharansky and also New York Times best-selling author of Middle East-based political thrillers.

It is going to be a very exciting trip. A unique adventure through the Bible that all our students are welcome to be a part of—to experience Israel as they have never experience it before. If you’d like more information please email missions@ccbce.com for details.
