Casa de la Esperanza House of Hope
Every 3rd Saturday - We meet in the church parking lot at 7:45am. Bring water, car registration for insurance (about $14 per car), snacks and lots of love. Join us as we caravan to Tijuana to visit this wonderful orphanage. The children would love to see you. They love having visitors. Join us on Saturday, Dec 20th. You will be blessed!
Christmas Celebration
This year we'll be buying presents for 66 or more children at the orphanage. They've given us their
requests and nearly all of them want shoes, pants (jeans), socks and underwear. Of course, the little girls want Barbie! Please stop by our table on Sunday and choose a child's name that you would like to buy Christmas presents for. We'll be wrapping the presents December 15th and delivering them December 20th and everyone is welcome to join the festivities! Contact Karen or Guy at gmcdaniels@cox.net or call 492 8593. May God bless your giving!
Some of the kids are new this month (Ulises) and others have just received a quilt from Marianne Park's quilting ministry. Her group has made a prayer quilt for every child at the orphanage and continue to make them for the new children! The kids are prayed for with
each knot that is tied in their quilt.
We had a wonderful time with the kids taking their pictures, serving pizza , making a craft and writing their Christmas wishes. We'll be having a table in the hallway beginning Nov 16 so that people can choose names
of kids for whom to buy Christmas gifts. We'll wrap the gifts on Dec 15 and deliver them Dec. 20. If anyone can man the table on Nov 29 - that would be a huge help!
Our next scheduled visit is November 15. On that day the orphanage will be having their annual "fair" to raise money for the orphanage. All kinds of food from hamburgers to pozole along with desserts will be sold for a small amount. You might want to bring some extra dollars to buy tickets for the food and have enough to give some of the children extra tickets. Our church will be providing the hamburgers, nachos, and drinks.
We will still have plenty of time to play with the kids before the "fair" begins. We hope many of you can make it. The food is delicious and the children are grateful for our visit and the attention we can give them.
God bless all of you! ...be strong and courageous...for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9 (even Mexico!!!) Love, Karen and Guy

Relationship Coaching
Many people think that counseling is for dealing with problems when a relationship is in trouble. The truth is that counseling is great to use for prevention and learning to deal with problems before they happen. Relationship focused counseling can help strengthen a healthy relationship and/or help a relationship that is experiencing difficulties. This may be with married/dating couples, parents and children or teens, or a whole family. During psychotherapy couples or family members realize they can have the skills, which can be used to resolve differences and conflicts in more loving manner. Don’t waste time and energy doing what is not working. Seek help from one of our licensed therapists. Call the CARE Department at 493.2006

The Bridge Recovery Ministry
Tuesdays at 7:00pm, in the Capo Café
"Therefore, I urge you brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God-- which is your spiritual worship." Romans 12:1 Don't all of our lives become unmanageable at different times? Whether that looks like working too much, harboring anger, drinking too much, needing stronger emotional boundaries; step three is all about turning our life over to the care of God and allowing Him to manage our lives and restore our well-being. We know now that we are powerless over our destructive behavior and have learned the power of handing the steering wheel over to the Lord's loving hands. Come and find safety, hope and a family who will welcome and accept you just as you are. Come bridge yourself to God and other people in a safe and loving Christ centered atmosphere as we follow the 12 steps together! Childcare available.

Interested in a “complete” education for your child? CBC has a wonderful preschool through 8th grade educational plan. CBCS believes that education without knowledge of God is incomplete. We offer our children excellent academic instruction solidly anchored within the context and awareness of God’s love. If you are interested in exploring the educational opportunities that CBCS has to offer, please contact Sue or Joanne in the school office 496.3513. www.capobeachcalvaryschools.com

Class Size Got You Down?
“Teachers with small classes can spend time and energy helping each child succeed. Smaller classes also enhance safety, discipline and order in the classroom. When qualified teachers teach smaller classes kids learn more. It’s common sense and the research proves it works to increase student achievement.” The National Association for Education website Capo Beach Calvary is a school where every teacher knows every student by name. CBCS is committed to a class size of 17 students per grade level. Learning and achievement are increased in a small class. Small class size helps children to develop closer and more productive relationships with teachers and classmates. If the idea of a smaller school appeals to
you, give us a call and come visit. 496.3513

FAMILIES IN RICH ENCOUNTERS
www.familiesinrichencounters.com

“Bringing Faith Home” The Most Enduring Gift of All 1 Corinthians 13 is known as the “love chapter.” You have probably read it or heard it before. I recently came across a seasonal interpretation of this chapter by an unknown
author. You’ll enjoy it. If I decorate my house perfectly with plaid bows, strands of twinkling lights and shiny balls, but do not show love to my family, I’m just a decorator. If I slave away in the kitchen, baking dozens of Christmas cookies, preparing gourmet meals and arranging a beautifully adorned table at mealtime, but do not show love to my family, I’m just another cook. If I work at the soup kitchen, carol in the nursing home and give all that I have to
charity, but do not show love to my family, it profits me nothing. If I trim the tree with shimmering angels and crocheted snowflakes, attend a myriad of holiday parties and sing in the choir’s cantata but do not focus on my love for Christ, I have missed the point. Love stops the cooking to hug the child. Love sets aside the decorating to kiss the husband. Love is kind, though harried and tired. Love doesn’t envy another’s home that has coordinated Christmas china and table linens. Love doesn’t yell at the kids to get out of the way, but is thankful they are there to be in the way. Love doesn’t give only to those who are able to give in return but rejoices in giving to those who can’t. Harry Robinson for Families in Rich Encounters, a family ministry of CBC.
